The inaugural winner of the Adam Nigh Award is Kodie Peekstock, a student at Waterford District High School.  Adam is pictured below on a paddle board.

The Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise pledged funds to honour Adam who passed away almost a year ago. Kodie will receive a $500 cheque on October 6 at the high school awards night from the Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise.  Congratulations Kodie!

Kodie is completing his 5th year at WDHS and is planning on earning his college diploma through an apprenticeship in the mechanical field.  Kodie has been an influential member of the student body.  He has participated on both the rugby and football teams, as well as co-founding the Stand Up Paddle (SUP) club at WDHS.  Currently Kodie is completing a co-op placement within the WDHS auto department, where he is assisting peers and sharing his knowledge with the younger students.  Outside of school Kodie is a superstar on the water.  3 years ago he hopped on a paddle board and hasn’t stopped.  This summer he paddled 80 km as a fundraiser for Community Living Ontario, placed 2nd in the Carolina Cup, and excelled in numerous other races.  From there he was sent to Denmark as a member of Team Canada, and helped the team to finish in 16th place in the world.
