The Open House at the Simcoe's Caring Cupboard was an ideal opportunity to recognize the service above self volunteer contributions made by two of Norfolk's great volunteers.

Kim Scoyne volunteered and provided strong leadership as Chair of the Caring Cupboard's Board of Directors for many years, as well as serving other community organizations up until recently when she moved with family to the Ridgetown area. Kim has continued her passionate volunteerism with organizations in her new community.

Don Gardner received his award for a lifetime of giving to others while Treasurer of the Caring Cupboard and several other community organizations, for coordinating blood donor clinics in Simcoe for over 25 years, and for collecting thousands of eye glasses for the Lions vision program.  Following his retirement from teaching, Don mentored many single parents to re-enter the workforce.

Congrats to Kim and Don, who are shown in the photo with bookends Don Emerson and Pete Wheatley who presented the awards.
