 Youth Exchange                                  Image

Every year, more than 7,000 young people will have the opportunity of a lifetime - a chance to live in another country and see the world from a new perspective through Rotary Youth Exchange. Rotary Youth Exchange students spend a year living with host families and attending school in a country other than their own. They learn a new way of living, maybe even a new language, and a great deal about themselves. As they learn, they also teach the people they meet about their country, culture, and ideas. They are young ambassadors, helping to bring the world closer together and making some good friends in the process.

On the left,  Jayne Kitchen (Port Dover High school) and Justin Jennings (Valley Heights High School) are Norfolk Sunrise 2012-13 outbound exchange students,  They will spend a year abroad attending schools in France and Japan respectively.  On Right, Kate VanTil, Rotary Club of Simcoe's 2012-13 outbound student in Australia/

A unique youth exchange program started in October 1996 as a friendship exchange between the Rotary Clubs of Welshpool (located in Welshpool, Wales) and Norfolk Sunrise. The exchange provides an opportunity for high school students from the local areas to travel overseas for approximately 10 days and experience the similar, yet very different cultures.

Each year, the students from Welshpool (UK) travel to Norfolk (Canada) during October and the students from Norfolk (Canada) travel to Welshpool (UK) during the March break.
