District Governor Kevin Crosby addressed the Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise this week with a clear message.  “Rotary is what Rotary does” is a call to action for clubs large and small throughout District 7090.

Kevin hails from Buffalo, New York, central in the horseshoe shaped international District that runs from Delhi at the western frontier, around Lake Erie to Jamestown New York, and as far east as Rochester.

Kevin’s call to action fits well with the 2015-16 Rotary International Theme “Be a Gift to the World.” He noted several ways that the Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise lives out this theme through acting in our community and elsewhere.

Jim Oliver presented Kevin, in the photo, with a Ride for Rotary shirt and a cheque for $1,315, the proceeds from this year’s Ride.  This amount is part of Norfolk Sunrise’s commitment to the End Polio Now Campaign. When multiplied by matching grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Government of Canada, Norfolk Sunrise’s contribution grows to $6575 which will vaccinate 10,958 children against the polio virus.
President Jeff Mereweather presented Kevin with a cheque to fulfill Norfolk Sunrise’s annual commitment to The Rotary Foundation - $100 USD per club member each year.

District Governor Kevin noted Norfolk Sunrise’s extensive work with youth and youth exchange and several other programs in the local and international community.
