On Tuesday morning, 05 May 2026, David Douglas welcomed the Douglas' long-time friend, Pete Goodrum, writer & broadcaster from Norfolk UK as our special guest speaker, to our hybrid (ie live attendance at R83 with zoom remote attendance) session. Pete's presentation was delivered by Zoom from his home in Norwich UK and focused on the similarities & contrasts between his Norfolk England and our Norfolk Canada, as he had determined them over the years of his friendship with David and Melanie.

Pete Goodrum is a writer and broadcaster from Norwich, Norfolk UK. Born and bred in the city, he has a very keen interest in the area and its history. His background is in advertising, and he now operates as a freelance writer and consultant. Pete is also a successful author with twelve books to his name. He makes frequent appearances on radio covering topics ranging from advertising history to social trends. He is also a much in demand public speaker. In May, courtesy of his long friendship with David Douglas, he joins us to look at the similarities - and otherwise - of his Norfolk in the UK and our Norfolk in Ontario.
