After a pandemic period defined by social gathering restrictions and a summer break from our Rotary activities, President Louise welcomed over 45 of us to the first hosted event of her leadership year. It was a great night in an open-air facility, chosen for its safety and we all felt more than comfortable getting together in this way to see each other after such a long break.

Following the meal, Andy Kooistra guided some of us on a walking tour through the Shadow Lake Trails; a portion of which we had recently contributed to with RCNS funding. Along the way, the walkers paused for a group photo.
The evening afforded us a chance to offer best wishes to several of our members who were celebrating personal events in their lives. Go to the Read more ... tab to see who these folks were!
All in all, it was a great way to kick off our new RCNS year; one that will be filled with great opportunities in our communities.
The BBQ was great; we enjoyed a full spread courtesy of the Waterford Legion and the work of its enthusiastic volunteer staff. Hardly a surprise that we return here for our summer get-together year-by-year. Many thanks to Gail Bouw and her Club Services team for getting this all organized so well.
We also had the chance to celebrate some personal events along the way - Dave and Melanie Douglas celebrating their anniversary as well as Dave Douglas and Andy Kooistra celebrating their respective birthdays.
