Happy New Year everyone; members, family and friends - at our first meeting of the New Year, we had 28 members in attendance and 1 by zoom link.
The following announcements were offered up;
* Jill Ormsby and Josh Herter were introduced as prospective new members - we offered each a very warm welcome to the meeting!;
* Keith Jones gave a report on his curling trip to Scotland - see the associated story for full details;
* Co-Presidents Ross Gowan and Mary Mercator gave an update on our 2024/2025 Action Plan - see the associated story for more detail;
* Past President John Wallace noted that our Club would be represented at the Annual RI Conference in Calgary and would reflect on our International work;
* Bettyanne Carty thanked all who helped or contributed to the Club service of providing New Year's Eve meals to the residents at Indwell - see the associated story;
* Gail Bouw said that she was preparing another 'Guess Who's Coming to Supper' event; currently being planned for sometime in February;
* Gail Catherwood noted the Membership Orientation Session was set for 14 April,
* Gail Catherwood reflected on the fact that it was 4 years since the passing of our Founding President Keith Flexman. She also mentioned that Joyce Flexman was recovering in the hospital from a very unfortunate fall (Ed Note; On 11 Jan, Lucine M reports that Joyce is "in rehab at NGH and doing great. Going home next week with neighbours walking Melly.") and
* Keith Jones commented that there would be an Area 1 gathering at the Brantford Sunrise Club on 29 January.
