On a beautiful August Saturday in Norfolk County 22 motorcyclists headed east from Simcoe towards the Niagara area on a fun ride raising funds to help Rotary eradicate polio from the planet. Each rider donated a registration fee (some donated even more) plus many Norfolk Sunrise Members have also donated  - all funds will be matched 2:1 by the Bill Gates Foundation and this money will go to Rotary International's End Polio Now campaign. (Last year the money raised was also matched by the Canadian Federal Government but that program has not been renewed at this time but hopefully it will soon). Once the final $ count is completed we will provide an update to the Club on money raised, matched and on it's way to help vaccinate kids in the still polio-affected countries.

The 22 motorcyclists on 19 bikes rode through beautiful scenery along Lake Erie in Norfolk & Haldimand Counties to Jordan in the Niagara area where they stopped for lunch at the Jordan House tavern. Rider/Pastor Ron helped kick-off the meal and door prizes were awarded - many thanks to Boston Pizza & Tim Hortons in The Queensway, the Jordan House and to Rotarian Dave Nicolle for donating the door prizes. The last of the 'famous event t-shirts' were also awarded to newcomers to this year's ride.

Many thanks to all who supported thee 2017 Ride for Rotary and to Jim Oliver, Dave Bradshaw and Dave Nicolle for organizing another fun & successful Ride!
