Recently, the Club provided funding to NACL (Norfolk Association for Community Living) to purchase 8 locks. Losing the key to your home can be devastating for a person, and those with developmental disability and living in their own apartment are no different. The funding allows the purchase of 6-8 keyless entry locks for doors for individuals with a developmental disability so that they may secure (lock) and re-enter (unlock) their homes reliably without use of a key. NACL would assist for the installation of the door locks and provide training to individuals to program their locks with a passcode for their choosing so that they may recall the information easily and/or use the option of fingerprint recognition so that the individual may program their individual locks.Seen in the picture is our own Scott Williams, Chair of Community Services Committee, providing the donation to Stella Barker, Executive Director at NACL.
