Susan Roach - Mental Heath Advocate and Paul Harris Fellow

At the Wellness Fair on March 19th, Sue O'Dwyer presented a new Paul Harris Fellow Award to Susan Roach on behalf of Norfolk Sunrise. Close to 200 attendees were present at the time.

Susan is a recognized leader locally, provincially and nationally in many aspects of mental health work. As Program Manager with Community Addiction and Mental Health Services of Haldimand and Norfolk, and responsible for the Achieve Wellness and Recovery Centre, Susan is a passionate promoter of mental health awareness, and has been successful in breaking down the stigma of mental health issues through dialogue in our community. Susan was the driving force several years ago to begin the highly successful Wellness Fair, held annually at the Aud in Simcoe. Susan was recognized with a national award in November 2015 by the Canadian Association of Suicide Prevention for her tireless work in suicide prevention. She writes a column on the topic for the Norfolk News, and organizes each year a Suicide Prevention Walk to raise awareness.
