On Tuesday morning, 22 October, we welcomed our Guest Speaker; John Regan, the Norfolk County Director of Economic & Community Development. Paul Zorad introduced John as being recently arrived from Guelph, as a manager well-versed in such developmental matters and as a County employee keen on making things better.
John offered a very entertaining talk on his responsibilities within Norfolk County. We were introduced to Scout; their organizational mascot. He went on to discuss any number of recent initiatives the County has embarked upon and proudly cited the new "Visit Norfolk" site as a most successful venture. During the session, he covered everything from transit to awards; from signage to business retention/expansion; from quality of worker's life to diversity, equity and inclusion programs, to a glimpse into planned 2025 initiatives etc etc. All in all, a great presentation, drawing much interest and many questions.
On behalf of the RCNS, Gail Bouw offered our appreciation for John's work to improve the County and for such an informative perspective.
