Pass It On! Outdoor Mentors
On Tuesday morning, 24 Mar 2026, Co-President Ross Gowan welcomed Dr Scott Petrie a representative from the Pass It On! Outdoor Mentors organization as our special guest speaker, to our hybrid (ie live attendance at R83 with zoom remote attendance) session. In his introduction Ross included remarks concerning the Petrie family background in Norfolk County.
Scott joined us by Zoom-link from his present home in North Dakota and provided us with a very enlightening overview about his new-found work and passion. He described the aims of the ‘Pass it On!’ mission to empower young people through outdoor experiences & mentorship. In particular, he  presented ideas describing their growth plans (increased presence in the United States and a move into Canada) as a non-profit organization dedicated to giving children the chance to experience the great outdoors.
Website information describing the Pass It On! - Outdoor Mentors is at this linkAt the ‘Read more …’ tab you can read more about Scott. After several questions, Co-President Mary Mercato reflected on our common interest in promoting youth development and thanked Scott for his connected passion and influencer role in helping our youth to help themselves.
