On Tuesday morning, 26 May 2026, and on our collective behalves, Dave Douglas welcomed Gordon & Michelle Black, leaders and musicians with the Paris-Port Dover Pipe Band (PPDPB) as our special guests. Their presentation focussed on the personal and group experiences as they and the PPDPB performed with Paul McCartney during his recent (21 Nov 2025) show at the Hamilton TD Centre.
It was a fascinating and most interesting talk about a truly unique experience. We were entertained to learn of the background to the band, the way in which they became connected with Paul McCartney, the preparations necessary for the concert performance, the aspects of youth development they promote and the positive consequences that have been unfolding since the concert.
Co-Pres Ross Gowan offered our modest gratitude for such a great presentation by such great musical champions of our communities on the world stage. How proud are we, of their exciting experience and the way in which they have represented our communities. BZ.
