On Tuesday morning, 27 Jan '26, Maria Kinkle welcomed Sarah Page (in the company of Dr Seamus Norton) as our Guest Speaker(s) - Sara is the CEO at Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) whist Dr Seamus is the new Associate Medical Officer of Public Health, At our hybrid (ie live attendance at R83 with zoom remote attendance) session, they spoke to us about the progess being made with the ‘new’ GEPH - new in the sense of mandate, restructure and personal appointments. Sarah offered thoughts on the new structure, the scope of its responsibilities and the attendant challenges that go along with public health in the Norfolk, Brant, Haldemand and First Nation communities. It was a great insight into a very important aspect of our personal-health lives in Norfolk County. Many questions followed; all well-answered by Sarah and Dr Seamus. In the end, Co-President Mary Mercato offered appreciative remarks in thanking Sarah and Dr Seamus for theiir essential work within the local health-services community. They were then presented with an expression of our thanks by noting that we had, in their names, restored the sight of a 2-month old Zambian boy as part of of our Operation Eyesight support.

Sarah Page is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH), appointed in August 2025, bringing over 20 years of health and human services leadership, including roles in paramedicine, long-term care, and social services, and previously serving as Interim CEO for the newly merged health unit, guiding its formation from the Brant County and Haldimand-Norfolk Health Units. She is known for leading Norfolk County's COVID-19 response and fostering collaboration across health sectors, with a background as a frontline paramedic and a Bachelor of Science degree.
