On Tuesday morning, 31 Mar 2026, we welcomed Church Out Serving Board Chair Eric Haverkamp as our special guest speaker. Eric provided an update on all the programs offered by this community-minded group. Programs include Food Programs to address food insecurity; Donation Station to provided furnishings for those in need; social enterprise Riversyde83, a community hub in Simcoe's downtown; a year-round overnight shelter and now a day-time resource hub as well. The next project in their vision is a Rural Recovery Village, with nature-based therapeutic care. Ross Gowan thanked Eric and noted Rotary has made a donation for eyesight restoration as a thank you for his presentation.

Church Out Serving is a faith-inspired, community-focused, volunteer-run care network with a focus to “love our neighbours”. We do this with our actions, serving in practical ways, drawing together people who are committed to making a difference in our community.
Riversyde 83’s mission is to create community, to promote wellness (mind, body and spirit), and to offer a pay-it-forward social enterprise that supports our other Church Out Serving programs.
