On Tuesday morning, 31 Oct 2023 and on our collective behalves, Gail Bouw welcomed Todd Stepanuik, Pres & CEO of the Norfolk General Hospital as our Guest Speaker. At our hybrid session, he provided an excellent overview of the Norfolk General Hospital (NGH) as well as the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home (NHNH). In a well-prepared presentation Mr Stepanuik discussed the scope of this Norfolk health care operation, certain challenges the organizations are currently facing, aspects of the related corporate development plans and the implications surrounding the move to a new Ontario Health Teams structure. All in all, a comprehensive briefing; very revealing; quite encouraging.Following questions as time permitted, our own Marjorie Dawson (NGH Past Board Chair) offered RCNS appreciation for his work at the NGH/NHNH as well as for his most-informative briefing. President John added his own gratitude and a few related reflections to round out the morning.
